Cooking classes with a musical twist!

In music, a cappella means singing without any instrumental accompaniment. In other words…you’re on your own! No matter what level of cook you are, at Cooking A Cappella, you will learn skills that will help you cook delicious meals all on your own. There are dozens of exciting, fun and informative classes to choose from, such as “The Cheeses of France’s Loire Valley”, “Schnitzel, Spaetzle and Strudel”, “Pasta making”, “A French Country Meal” and “Showstopper Desserts”, that will satisfy both the beginner and more advanced cooks. In addition, you’ll learn about and work with unique, more obscure ingredients that will lift your meals out of the ordinary.

Every week, there is a cheese class, where we learn about, classify and taste cheeses from different areas of the world. Other classes will focus on the world’s many wonderful cuisines and the techniques needed to make dozens of special dishes. Our classes are small and hands on, so you will receive personal attention and you’ll be taking part in the preparation of all of the food. Classes will end with a communal meal where we will dine on the fruits of our labor, paired with the perfect wine to complement the meal.

What makes us particularly different here at Cooking A Cappella is the entertaining addition of music into our classes. Your teacher, chef/ owner Lawrence Rush, has not only worked as a caterer, cheesemonger, personal chef and pastry chef in several New York City restaurants, but he is also a professional singer and an award-winning composer.
